To advise on emerging environmental issues and set established practices so that a management system is maintained and world class environmental standards are achieved.
Knowledge Skills and Experience Appropriate engineering degree from a recognised technical university. Post graduate study leading to licences and certification from professional EHS institutions. Masters degree in a related subject an advantage. Broad technical and commercial knowledge related to the oil and gas industry both onshore and offshore for at least 10 years. At least 10 years experience working in a world class organisation in the environmental arena at a senior level. Familiar with working and making rapid assessments in a multi cultural, multi national environment. Able to demonstrate good communication skills in motivating and influencing people to achieve the end results. Is able to analyse highly complex technical data, needs to be computer literate. Able to change attitudes and behaviours toward environmental priorities in work situations.
RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is one of the premier integrated liquefied natural gas (LNG) enterprises in the world. Since its creation in 1993, RasGas has developed world class facilities for the extraction, storage, processing and export of LNG, and has entered into long term agreements to supply LNG to customers in Korea, India, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Taiwan and the United States of America. RasGas currently operates six LNG trains with 20.7 million tones per annum (Mta) of production capacity. It is expected that production will be approximately 37 Mta by 2009 with the completion of seven trains.
