Coeur Alaska is recruiting an Environmental Superintendent for its Kensington Gold Mine, presently under construction, located 45 miles north of Juneau, Alaska.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for establishing strategies and guidelines, assigning responsibilities, measuring progress and reporting results.
• Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace while supporting environmental policies and regulations
• Assists in the preparation of permits, plans, studies, or regulatory reports related to environmental compliance.
• Conducts field environmental monitoring activities related to air, water, wildlife, and meteorology.
• Prepares and provides Environmental Training to consultants, contractors, and
Coeur employees; and provides expertise in environmental science & engineering.
• Performs special projects or provides input to management regarding regulatory requirements, techniques, and cost of environmental-related subjects.
Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mine Engineering or related science field plus 3 to 5 years of directly related experience preferred. Solid computer skills required. Experience in coordinating site environmental programs; working knowledge of scientific principles associated with natural resources; and experience with federal regulatory programs is essential. Ability to work independently and to accept responsibility, ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful; mature; flexible. Good reasoning abilities; well organized; and must work well under pressure. We offer a competitive wage and benefits package. Coeur Alaska Inc. is a drug free work place.
