Queenstake Resources USA, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Yukon-Nevada Gold Corp., has an immediate need for an Environmental Coordinator at our Jerritt Canyon Mine located north of Elko, NV.
The successful candidate will possess a B.Sc degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, Hydrology, Soils, Range, Wildlife or similar field, and have at least two years of relevant environmental experience, preferably in mining or a related field. Experience should include preparation of environmental permits and associated reports, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and ensuring environmental compliance.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and Federal regulations pertaining to mining such as the CAA, CWA, ESA, NEPA, RCRA, SARA, and TSCA. Candidates must have strong computer skills with demonstrated expertise in Microsoft applications; AutoCAD and GIS experience would be a plus. The ideal candidate will possess: excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to manage several projects simultaneously, ability to work in a team atmosphere as well as the ability to work with limited supervision. Candidates must also be self-starters, highly motivated and have the ability to meet deadlines. Candidates should be willing and able to conduct fieldwork, including environmental monitoring and testing, as necessary.
