Description and Desired Qualifications

• Performs conceptual and detailed design of 69 kV through 500 kV overhead transmission lines including tower spotting, conductor selection, conductor clearance and corona management.
• Performs design for transmission tower structural design, foundation design, transmission line design, surveying and civil & structural duties associated with the design of overhead transmission lines.
• Provides technical proficiency in the use of PLS CADD, PLS POLE, PLS TOWER, LPILE.

SPECIAL NOTE: CH2M HILL will not sponsor a work visa (e.g. H1B, etc.,) to fill this position. Strong preference will be given to qualified candidates residing in the greater Denver, CO region.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (BSCE preferred).
• 10 years demonstrated experience in design of electric transmission projects up through 345  KV using PLS CADD.
• Experience in management of transmission line design projects in a consulting engineering and EPC environment.
• Good understanding of construction techniques required for overhead transmission lines.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline is required.  

Preferred Qualifications

• 15 years demonstrated experience in design and project management of electric transmission projects up through 500 kV.
• Demonstrated business development, client management and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in underground or submarine cable transmission design.
• International experience.
• Field construction experience.
• Bachelors degree Civil Engineering preferred
• PE license is preferred.
