Description and Desired Qualifications
CH2M HILL Intermediate Project Accountant - Calgary
The challenge? Helping to develop and provide high quality, leading edge project accounting services for a global leader in full-service engineering, consulting, and construction. Our Intermediate Project Accountant jobs provide you the opportunity to work with and ensure accurate efficient Project Accounting for CH2M HILL and our clients. Each day, you will be responsible for administering and accounting for CH2MHILL service contracts with clients, including, contract review and interpretation, project set-up, expense tracking, invoicing, and reporting. You should be a self-motivated professional accountant with a 1+ year track record in a Project Accounting position, with experience working in engineering or construction industry, and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each project accounting job.
Our Intermediate Project Accountant:
• Monitor and execute the financial portion of contracts including set-up
• Preparation of invoices
• Review expenses and purchase orders and reconciling against client invoices
• Review projects for non-refundable taxes where applicable
• Liaise with project management
• Assist in collection of accounts receivable
• Weekly and monthly project budget vs. actual analysis
• Project-related account reconciliation
• Assist senior level project accountants with complex invoices, set-ups and cost transfers
• Backup support for other domestic and international projects
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, or equivalent degree
• 1 - 3 years Project Accounting experience
• Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Access and familiarity and comfort with data mining and reporting
• Familiarity with large accounting systems (Oracle Financials)
• Desire to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
