* Small site with long-term mine life
* Very successful mid tier nickel producer

Our client operates numerous highly successful underground mines and has plans to further expand operations through the second half of 2008. They have multiple sites throughout Australia, in addition to some international interests that may be explored through internal 'channels'.

The role will work on a 8/6 FIFO roster and will report to the Geology Manager focusing on the companys flagship operation. The main focus will be to oversee the daily geological functions while also facilitating the continued development of the mine. Specific duties include:
* Planning and implementing resource definition drill programs
* Providing geological wireframes and resource models
* Geological and geotechnical mapping
* Maintaining the drilling and analytical databases (QA/QC)
* Supervising geologists, drill contractors and geological technicians
* Weekly and monthly reports
* Oversee Grade control and reconciliations

The position will require a proven background in a similar underground position with SURPAC skills being a distinct advantage.
