Brisbane Based Position / Crude Oil Refinery / Leading Global Fuel & Hydrocarbon Supplier / Projects & Engineering Division

Our client, the owner / operator of one of Australia's largest refineries, they have recently undergone an extensive increase in their clean fuels production capabilities. With eleven main processing units and over 50 tanks ranging in size to up to 80 million litres, the refinery occupies an area of almost 90 hectares, supplying fuels and hydrocarbons to the local market.

Due to continued expansion within their Brisbane Based Refinery, they currently require a Senior Mechanical Refinery Engineer.

You will be responsible for the overall development and delivery of projects, ensuring issues are developed innovatively, making cost effective use of current technology. As part of the projects and engineering division, you will execute all capital projects, being accountable for refinery engineering standards.

Specific responsibilities will include:
# Manage mulit-discipline projects team
# Design and review of plant and equipment
# Reveiw vendor packages, tendors and contracts
# Supervise construction contractors
# Preperation of work packages and estimates

Applying your knowledge of mechanical equipment and setting the standards for future refinery upgrades, you will also provide engineering support to the reliabilitiy and maintenance department in the development of engineering soultions to refinery problems.

Chemical or refining industry experience in project design, engineering or project management will be advantageous. Field construction and supervision or engineering consultant / contractor management expertise is also preferable. Additionally experience with rotating equipment and/or static equipment design will be highly regarded.
