Elk Valley Coal Corporation’s Fording River Operations, located near Elkford, B.C, currently has an opening for a:
CASUAL LOSS PREVENTION OFFICER (LPO)
Reporting to the Loss Prevention Supervisor, Loss Prevention Officers are responsible for matters related to health, safety and site security. This is position may involve working in a variety of environmental conditions. The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for administering first-aid, providing overall site protection including fire systems, controlling access and egress, performing workplace hygienic exposure monitoring, and participating in awareness initiatives, site wide safety inspections and Health and Safety program education. The successful candidate is expected to have demonstrated interest in the Occupational Health and Safety field through education, experience or a combination thereof. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is essential. As an individual interested in this position, you are conscientious and have good attention to detail. You are able to perform health sampling and safety monitoring duties, and compile and report information with accuracy. You function best in a high-performance atmosphere and demonstrate leadership in times of crisis. You are willing to devote time to Mine Rescue and possess, or are interested in attaining, your Mine Rescue certificate. You hold a minimum OFA Level III or EMP certification. Candidates with industry first aid experience will be given preference. Elk Valley Coal Corporation offers an excellent salary and benefits package.
