MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: BS Science or Engineering.

Experience: 13 years of professional experience including at least five (5) years as a specialist with full responsibility for major technical work. Incumbent will have achieved substantial industry recognition in area of expertise. Publications in technical journals and participation in technical societies are a plus. Knowledge of USPTO and/or EPO IP regulation and procedures is required.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct involvement in preparation and administration of corporate Intellectual Assets protection and management programs.

Accomplished with Intellectual Assets Management systems and all aspects of patent processing activities with a hands-on approach in this area.

Provide advice to corporate proponents relating to IP protection in the context of Non Disclosure agreements and contracts governing 3rd party collaboration agreements, and liaise with personnel from Contracting and Law Departments on issues relating to IP assignment, ownership and commercial exploitation.

Identification, capture, protection and portfolio mapping of corporate intellectual assets.

Direct interface with company scientists and engineers to collate information required for the preparation of patent applications.

Co-ordinate with the company s Law Department in the preparation of patent filing documentation and will serve as a liaison to facilitate responses to patent office actions.

Participate in Innovation and IAM awareness presentations and workshops for the company s workforce.

Initiate and develop IP evaluation and mapping processes to align the patent portfolio with corporate strategies, core technologies, and new business as an area of increasing focus and importance.

Team-player qualities to assist in the training of Saudi Nationals in area of expertise.
