Supercritical Water Process

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering

5 years of industrial experience related to supercritical water technology.

Hands-on experience in processing heavy hydrocarbons by supercritical water process.

Hands-on experience in handling solid matters in continuous supercritical water process.

Hands-on experience in designing and operating bench, pilot and demonstration scale supercritical water process.

Hands-on experience in designing and implementing safety procedure and interlock for high pressure and high temperature process.

Knowledge of process simulation (HYSIS, Pro-II, Aspen).

Ability to use and apply HMI or SCADA software to bench and pilot scale supercritical water process.

Knowledge of latest developments in corrosion control of supercritical water process.

Ability to identify and satisfy customer s requirements.

Interpersonal and communication skills.

Team building and team management skills.

Project management skills.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Research & Development Division is establishing an ambitious research program in the area of novel technologies for petroleum upgrading, in particular, whole crude oil desulfurization & upgrading. One of the most promising non-conventional technologies is to utilize supercritical state water for upgrading heavy and sour crude oil. Development program for supercritical water - mediated crude oil upgrading includes interpretation of fundamental reaction mechanism/kinetics, design of bench & pilot-scale supercritical water reaction system, conducting experiments with various operating parameters and feedstocks, and establishing basic process engineering package for demonstration plant.

To carry out the tasks and achieve the objective and as a team member, we are seeking to hire a chemical engineer having strong background and experience in supercritical water process. Candidate s contribution to the team will be design of novel supercritical water process in bench and pilot scale, conducting experiments, extracting engineering parameters from testing results, and participating in preparation of basic process engineering package.

Candidate should have hands-on experience and knowledge on the supercritical water process, in particular, handling heavy hydrocarbons and solid matters in continuous flow supercritical water process. Additionally, experience in process simulation and design of supercritical water process is preferred.
