Maintenance Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Candidate will be working as a maintenance engineer in Ras Tanura Refinery. The candidate will be working with maintenance planners and technicians in one of the refinery operating area to support production personnel. In addition, he will have the following duties:

Optimizes maintenance resources by using adequate work identification, planning and scheduling tools and techniques.

Promotes equipment standardization to optimize spare parts and training requirements if possible.

Assists as required with maintenance craft workers on technical problems (60 to 70% office work and 30 to 40% in the field).

Initiate and monitor the progress of all contracts procurement within area.

Establishes and updates maintenance documents management system (documents classification, codification & updates).

Monitors tools and technology development in the market (reading magazines, books and attending conferences and technical shows).

Monitors shop qualification and quality standards for outside contractors.

Develops standards for major maintenance overhaul and outages.

Develops maintenance procedures and planned job packages for maintenance planners.

Monitor the life-cycle costing for equipment under his area of responsibility.

Monitor maintenance productivity.

Updates equipments listing and file.

Assess methods used for maintenance work orders prioritization and ensure implementation of these methods.

Performs cost/benefit reviews of the maintenance programs and determines whether the work should be performed by maintenance crew, central maintenance shop or external contractors.

Assists in starting-up new equipments, new installations and/or any design changes.

Participates in reliability & maintenance projects implementation (TPM, RCM, CBM, ODR etc).

Monitor other Aramco s plants and facilities activities in maintenance management concepts, techniques and tools.

Follows-up in maintenance KPI s gap closure.

Generate month-end report for maintenance activities.

Identifies critical spare parts availability requirements and ensures minimal stock.

Maintains and analyzes the use of surplus items and rental equipment.

Leads and facilitates failure investigation as required for equipment, generates reports, actions logs and follow-up in their closure.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

BS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Worked in a refinery or petrochemical plants.

Minimum of 7 years experience as a maintenance engineer maintaining stationery equipment or electrical systems.

Knowledge and expertise of the work order system.

Expertise in any CMMS preferably SAP.
