Location: UAE To provide occupational health and Emergency Medical Services to COMPANY UOP, including the implementation of Occupational Health Programs, Prevention & Treatment of health hazards and Medical Evacuation.
2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Demonstrates visible commitment to HSE by periodically leading/taking part in risk assessments, audits, HSE meetings, emergency drills, etc.
2. Provides emergency medical care and first aid in case of accidents and emergencies. Performs and assists in medical transfers, ambulance services and emergency evacuations as necessary.
3. Carries out pre-employment physicals and fitness for work assessments as per relevant policies, procedures and guidelines.
4. Takes Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) lead in ensuring “safe systems of work” and “safe conditions” are in place within area of responsibility.
5. Plans and implements various preventive medical programs such as staff immunisation programs in line with standard occupational health international practice or as per emerging business requirements (Hepatitis A & B, flu vaccine, etc.).
6. Maintains computer based occupational health database including staff health records. Prepares various reports and statistics as required.
7. Develops and implements Wellness Programs (such as Health Promotion, Home Safety, Medical Awareness, etc.) including presentations, awareness campaigns and seminars.
8. Establishes and implements Occupational Health Surveillance programs, including administration of health risk matrix, assessment of pre-employment physicals and post-injury examinations, as per fitness for work guidelines and COMPANY Occupational Health policies.
9. Conducts regular Inspection of plant facilities and buildings, including Kitchen and washrooms to ensure effective infection control and compliance with occupational health and hygienic standards. Ensures good housekeeping of the medical room and assigned areas.
10. Manages medical contracts with medical referral centre, occupational health physicians and contracted medic services.
11. Interfaces with Qatar OH&ME Nurse to exchange information, and discuss occupational health related issues of mutual concern.
12. Develops implements and manages Occupational Health and Emergency Medical Services policies, procedures and systems including appropriate protocols and medical directives regulating contracts with occupational health physicians. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health policies and guidelines.
13. Ensures procurement of medical supplies and equipment; refurbishment of First Aid Kits and medical supplies and stock items maintained at adequate levels at all times.
14. Conducts all work activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times by not taking on any task(s) that are perceived as unsafe. Complies with the COMPANY QHSE&S management system and reports all incidents and near misses to the supervisor or QHSE&S representative.
15. Performs other similar or related duties as and when assigned by line manager.
7. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (4 yrs) in Nursing or equivalent
- Further qualification/certification in occupational health would be an advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of Occupational Health/Company Nurse role, with at least 3 years of industrial experience in a large organisation preferably in oil & gas
Skills and Competencies:
- Good knowledge of written and spoken Arabic and English.
- Good Communications skills
- Valid UAE Driving License.
- Dependable and attentive to detail.
