Principal Process Engineer

A leading specialty chemicals company has an immediate opening for a Principal Process Engineer in the Mobile, AL area. Candidate must have a chemical process engineering background as well as good project engineering skills. A Masters Degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering and at least 5 to 10 years experience in process technology is preferred, however a BS in Chemical Engineering with specialized knowledge and experience will be considered. This position also requires detailed knowledge of process techniques in mechanical and thermal processes, process design, manufacturing technology and automation of processes. Extensive knowledge of advanced chemical engineering computer tools is essential (Aspen and B-Jac a plus). Knowledge of the German language would be a plus.

Chemical Engineering knowledge should include heat and material balances, fluid dynamics, reactor technology, liquid separation, solid separation, and heat transfer technology. Process improvement and capital project skills will also be used. This position will coordinate and lead other process engineers and have responsibility for cost savings, production efficiency and technical support. Experience as a Lead Process Engineer would be desirable. From 30 to 50% travel can be expected.
