Coeur Alaska is recruiting a Mine Engineer for its Kensington Gold Mine, presently under construction, located 45 miles north of Juneau, Alaska.
Responsibilities:
> Provide engineering technical support to mine operations as required, including:
• Mine design to include mine infrastructure, ventilation, production stopes and development.
• Mine planning and development of production rate.
> Plan and coordinates moderately complex projects, including estimation of capital and operating costs.
> Assists in preparation of department annual budget.
> Work closely with Maintenance and Purchasing departments to provide engineering expertise.
> Perform all work in a safe and healthful manner and in compliance with Company’s safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Experience: The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering with a minimum 5+ years experience working in an underground mine. Knowledge of Geotech and ventilation preferred. The ability to follow complex written and oral instructions, sound knowledge of mining methods, costs, and productivity. Effective verbal and written communications skills are required for this position. Proficient at Vulcan, Autocad, and Microsoft Office computer software.
