Coeur Alaska is recruiting a Safety Coordinator for its Kensington Gold Mine, presently under construction, located 45 miles north of Juneau, Alaska. Responsibilities:
�� Responsible for training employees and contractors in safety and health programs and compliance.
�� Promote and re-enforce a “safety and health first” attitude to all employees.
�� Performs work place inspections and monitoring.
�� Assists with loss control investigations, analysis and record keeping.
�� Assist in training mine rescue team members.
�� Responsible for assisting in the industrial hygiene sampling program.
�� Complies with safety, environmental and Company policies and procedures.
�� Supervise/provide structured technical training of Kensington employees.
�� Take a lead role in the development of Kensington progression guideline curriculum.
Experience: The successful candidate must have a minimum 5 years experience with MSHA safety regulations and loss control programs. Must have experience working in an underground mine and hold a current MSHA instructor card. Candidates must be certified in advanced first aid and demonstrate leadership and problem solving skills; effective verbal and written communications skills are required for this position. The ability to work independently and maintain positive relationships with all levels of Company personnel. Proficient at Microsoft Office computer software.
