QualificationsBSc Degree in Engineering or Chemistry.
Minimum ten years of related chemical experience in a production, operations, design or project management role.
APEGGA membership for an engineer.
Detailed knowledge and training in corrosion and chemistry aspects as it relates to both gas and oil production integrity management.
Knowledge of facilities and processes related to both gas and oil production.
Understanding of EUB and ABSA rules and regulations for Alberta and similar requirements within the BC and Saskatchewan jurisdictions.
Strong leadership and facilitation capabilities.
Strong communication, relational and problem solving skills.
Good computer skills and experience with spreadsheets and databases.
ResponsibilitiesReports to: Facility Engineering Advisor
Assist with the implementation of the Pipeline Integrity Management program and Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM) program.
Familiar with the operating conditions, facility and pipeline assessments of the operating districts.
Ensure corrosion chemical product application manuals (PAM) are developed and applied.
Ensure chemical programs document the selection, application, effectiveness and reporting requirements.
Review all monitoring aspects to ensure compliance and summarize for the Foremen.
Develop consistent reporting formats for chemical programs.
Address pipeline failure frequencies and identify mitigative options.
Track all chemical costs and identify opportunities for reduction and improvement.
Provide input to other team members on overall integrity program implementation.
Provide input into the annual budgets, multi year plans, chemical consumption, worklists, integrity tasks and roles for the 3rd party inspection company.
Provide training on corrosion aspects and chemical treatment as required.
Assist in establishing failure investigation and failure lab protocols.
Review corrosion failure investigation reports.
Travel to field locations or to chemical vendors is a requirement.
