Principal Instrumentation Engineer

Our client, one of the worlds’s leading providers of engineering and construction services are currently seeking to employ a Principal Instrumentation Engineer for the upgrade and Brownfield’s expansion of a major mineral processing plant in the former Soviet Union.

Your key accountabilities will be:

* Performing and checking engineering calculations
* Participating in the preparation P&ID’s, scope definition and detailed cost estimates
* Preparing scope of work and accompanying data sheets for issue in bid tender and construction packages
* Evaluating vendor proposals and providing recommendations
* Coordinating work with other disciplines
* Development of schedule and reporting progress
* Supervision of a small to medium size team of engineers

To qualify for this position you will have:

* A Degree in Electrical Engineering, diploma or relevant qualification along with substantial design experience.
* Experience in developing Instrumentation and Control philosophies, design studies, design specifications for compressor anti-surge control systems, emergency shutdown systems, fire and gas systems and package control systems, producing cost and man-hour estimates, progress reporting and providing technical direction to Instrument teams is also required.
* Substantial knowledge and familiarity with the methods, practices, crafts, tools, equipment, codes, documents, drawings, specifications, requirements, functions and control systems of the EPC business.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications and to read and analyse reports and graphs.

Ability to speak Russian/Ukrainian is highly desirable.

This role will be required for the 4 year lifespan of the project and is offered on a fly in fly out basis with 6 weeks on & 2 weeks off roster. On offer is an attractive remuneration package.
