Electrical Engineer (Infrastructure Coordinator)

Our client, one of the worlds’s leading providers of engineering and construction services are currently seeking to employ an Electrical Engineer (Infrastructure Coordinator) for the upgrade and Brownfield’s expansion of a major mineral processing plant in the former Soviet Union.

Your key accountabilities will be:

* To plan, co-ordinate and manage the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of assigned projects that involve high voltage distribution, substation upgrades, overhead transmission lines, overhead power distribution to portable substations.
* Take a leadership role in the preparation of proposals.
* Ensure clear agreement of client objectives and that these are met or exceeded.
* Proactively resolve performance, scope, cost and schedule issues with the Client as they arise.
* Monitor and control all cost aspects of the project including forecasting costs, obtaining approvals, identifying trends, taking action to avoid cost overruns and identifying opportunities
* Effective communications with the project team.

To qualify for this position you will have the following qualifications and attributes:

* A Degree in Electrical Engineering, diploma or relevant qualification along with substantial design experience.
* Must have significant relevant direct experience in mining and mineral processing operations electrical/infrastructure projects.
* Must have experience dealing with high voltage distribution, substation upgrades, overhead transmission lines, overhead power distribution to portable substations.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a high level of customer focus, with proven ability to engage with Client in representational basis.
* Must demonstrate skill and first hand experience in preparing economic and technical feasibility reports for project definition.
* Must demonstrate skill and experience in managing and execution of detail design of integrated electrical infrastructure.
* Will assist in identification of resource requirements and recruitment process.

Special Requirement: Ability to speak Russian/Ukrainian is highly desirable.

This role will be required for the 4 year lifespan of the project and is offered on a fly in fly out basis with 6 weeks on & 2 weeks off roster. On offer is an attractive remuneration package.
