Location: Australia Our client is seeking a strong leader for advanced exploration and development of its project in India.
The deposit is a high-grade volcanogenic massive sulphide. Principal metals are copper, zinc and lead, with silver and gold as likely payable by-products. The limits of the deposit are not yet known. The Company proposes to put the project into production as an underground mine with a concentrator capacity of at least 600 tonnes per day, preferably before the end of 2010. It expects to market copper, zinc and lead concentrates to Indian or overseas buyers.
The position will be based in country, with company provided housing, schooling, medical, etc. The VP will report directly to the President & CEO in New Delhi.
Your responsibilities will include:
• drilling from surface and underground to fill in and expand the known mineral deposit; working with consultants estimating a 43-101 compliant mineral resource;
• working with consultants conducting aspects of pre-feasibility, feasibility, metallurgical, process design, transportation and marketing studies;
• liaison with several government agencies and regulators;
• advancing various permits required for production;
• managing all personnel;
• And overseeing community relations and welfare.
To be successful in this role you should:
• Have competence in at least one of the disciplines of geology, mining engineering, extractive metallurgy or project management.
• Be fluent in English (with an aptitude for languages an asset)
• Ideally be a Qualified Person under Canada’s National Instrument 43-101.
