Engineering & Construction Team Leader

Located on Australia's northern coastline, the tropical island lifestyle provides a truly unique environment for employees to live and operate.

Our client operates one of the largest manganese operations in the world, mining high-grade manganese ore from extensive reserves, and processing products to exacting quality standards. Strategically close to world markets, their products leave their port bound for a variety of domestic and international destinations.

They are seeking an enthusiastic self-starter, with the capacity to take ownership and assume responsibility for achieving targeted goals, to join them as an Engineering and Construction Team Leader.

Reporting directing to the Superintendent Engineering & Projects you will be responsible for:

* Safety officer responsibilities.
* Direct supervision of contract labour
* Progress reporting and labour forecasting
* Financial responsibility for small project works
* Lifting and working at heights
* Job planning, hazard analysis and “workpack” development.

To be successful in this position you will need:

• Trade background, (preferably in metal trade) with a minimum 5 years post trade experience and a Certificate in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations (Highly Desirable).

• Knowledge of environmental issues

• Experience in budgeting and contract management.

• Maintenance/Fixed plant experience with a background on scheduling and planning using GSAP.

• Supervisory skills.
