Our client owns one of the world’s premier gold mines, located on a small tropical island in the north east of PNG. The mine has significant gold resources and ranks among the top gold producers globally. This role will be offered on either a FIFO or residential basis. Excellent medical and international primary education facilities are provided on the island.
Reporting to the Deputy Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for managing workshop activities, along with short, medium and long term maintenance aspects of the mining equipment that includes haul trucks, dozers, loaders, graders, excavators and various ancillary support equipment. You will also be responsible for managing the contract administration of equipment and consumable suppliers.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a team of senior supervisors to ensure the objectives are met
* Ensuring adherence to Company safety policies and procedures
* Participating in continuous improvement strategies of the on site fleet
* Ensuring maximum availability, reliability and efficiency of equipment whilst ensuring a reduction in operating costs
* Proactively developing the skills and capabilities of the maintenance team
To be considered for this role it is essential that you possess relevant mechanical trade qualifications, a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar senior maintenance supervisory or management role within the mining industry and significant experience in the maintenance of mobile mining equipment.
This role is offered on either a family residential placement in a safe and exotic location or FIFO roster of 15 days on / 13 days off to your point of hire. Excellent medical and international primary education facilities are provided on the island. A very attractive remuneration package + bonuses is on offer.
