Lead Drilling Engineer

Location: London / Algeria
Lead Drilling Engineer required for Major Operator for project in Algeria. The position will initially be based in the London office for ~9 months during the project planning phase then move to Algeria when the project team moves in country for ~15 months (the work in Algeria will be on a 28/28 rotation).

The position is to start June 2008 for an initial 2 year contract.

Essential Requirements;
- A degree in Engineering, preferably Petroleum Engineering.
- Extensive drilling experience including land drilling experience.
- Proven track record in well design, casing design, directional drilling, drill string and BHA design.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- A high degree of computer literacy in MS suite as well as casing and well design software.
- Excellent written and verbal (English) communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop ideas and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to mentor national and less experienced engineers and colleagues.
- Commitment to HSE principles.
