Our client is an international integrated energy company known for its technological expertise in deepwater exploration and production, reservoir management and exploitation, 3-D seismic technology, high-grade petroleum coke upgrading and sulfur removal. Due to recent expansion they now require an experienced Mechanical Engineer and Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to join their Darwin based team. Providing specialist technical support to the project and Darwin Operations you will focus on static mechanical equipment, piping and rotating machinery. Responsibilities include:
* Responding to mechanical engineering needs
* Responding for maintenance/ operations support, fault finding, investigations and shutdown support.
* Assisting with problem resolution, planning, training and competency assessment.
* Developing schemes for equipment and plant modifications to overcome bottlenecks, operability problems, improve production, efficiency and reliability.
* Change control within discipline, including developing scopes of work for engineering change within discipline area, vetting of all proposed changes for impact on mechanical discipline area and subsequent coordination of changes with change custodian.
* Provision and/or supervision of engineering of all piping and equipment facility design modifications and upgrades following best engineering practices, current industry and the facilities standards.
* Ensuring projects are properly planned and that costs are controlled, monitored and resources correctly utilized.
* Coordinating the implementation of new projects
* Providing input into commissioning and start-up plans for new equipment
* Participating in safety and hazard reviews (HAZOP) of facility projects
* Providing technical support to the maintenance section during shutdown activities.
* Ensuring currency of engineering design tools including PDS and Microstation.
* Ensuring sufficient technical reference documentation is available, current and controlled to enable all those interacting with mechanical systems both on and offshore and external support organisations to adequately manage support.
* Providing supervision and technical coordination for one GRAD Engineer and a Mechanical Engineer.
* Supervision of external contractor engineering personnel performing mechanical design, studies, troubleshooting, monitoring and maintenance. You will require 5 years + experience in engineering/operations/construction in high risk, technically challenging industrial environments as well as practical knowledge of application and operation of mechanical equipment found in oil and gas processing facilities including pressure vessels, piping, valves and pumps.
