Organization/DepartmentOur client is a growing owner/operator oil company with International acreage and a strong balance sheet. They need an Exploration Manager to plan and direct exploration activities in search of new resources and reserves as well as oversee the redevelopment of existing reserves.
As the Exploration Manager you will be responsible for delivering growth through effective application of exploration funds and high performance of the exploration team.
Example of Duties
Exploration Performance - Undertake rigorous exploration and evaluation activities to meet company targets and align with business strategy. Ensure exploration activities comply with all statutory and regulatory, legal, financial, standards and contractual requirements.
• Manage exploration portfolio from acreage capture to hand over of appraisal discoveries in accordance with exploration strategy;
• Develop strategies to identify potential resources within geographical boundaries set by the Board
• Provide technical advice to senior management and Board to help develop exploration strategy
• Identify, evaluate, generate and progress prospects and plays to drillable status;
• Present and share information and prospects with partners and potential partners.
• Ensure compliance with all government reporting and submission requirements
• Ensure the timely preparation of government documentation for permit renewal, surrender, gazettal, etc;
• Prepare and deliver appropriate reports to management team, Board, government, JV partners and communicate current and future exploration activities and opportunities
• Establish and execute contract relating to geophysical operations;
• Manage contractors and suppliers to ensure achievement of the projects objectives.
Cost Management - Actively monitor costs and regularly review processes, suppliers and activities to ensure costs are appropriate.
• Contribute to the development of budget and financial planning for exploration department
• Provide appropriate resources, support and development opportunities to enhance the effectiveness the employees within the exploration team (including coaching and mentoring);

• Senior Geophysicist
• Senior Geologist x2
• Geophysicist x2
• Senior Technical Assistant x3
• Permit Administrator
• Technical Secretary
RequirementsThe Candidate:
You will have a BSc(Hons)+ in Geoscience and 15+ years experience in oil & gas exploration. It is preferable that you will have more than four years in team leader capacity
International experience (not just USA or Australia)
Also suitable for a current Team Leader of large organisation ready to take the next step in their career.
