Growing independent exploration and production company with both domestic and international operations is seeking a RESERVOIR ENGINERING TECHNICAL TEAM LEAD for their business unit located in Houston, TX.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will provide reservoir engineering leadership to the technical team responsible for Bakken development in North Dakota. The Bakken resource play is a growth area with current production of 5,000 boepd and projected activity growth from 6 to 10 drilling rigs over the next two years.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide leadership to a team of five technical professionals to support the rapid growth of the Bakken play.
• Establish and implement a reservoir management strategy to maximize value and capture upside production potential.
• Propose and execute reservoir engineering studies to ensure sound technical development of a long term producing asset.
• Integrate with members of the extended North Dakota team to promote innovative ideas for resource development.
• Responsible for Bakken reserves management.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process.
• Mentor less experienced team members.
• Provide data and presentations to senior management as necessary.
SKILLS:
• Sound knowledge of reservoir engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to work successfully with other disciplines and management.
• Ability to multi-task and support exploitation and development opportunities.
• Effective interpersonal and communications skills, particularly the ability to communicate technical expertise and lead multi-discipline teams.
• Technical experience in onshore EOR operations.
• Knowledge of reservoir geomodeling and simulation theory and techniques.
• Working knowledge of fluid phase behavior and core analysis.
• Experience in budget and production forecast preparation with focus on cost management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering
• 15+ years experience in petroleum engineering
• Experience with economics modeling software (PEEP), OFM, Petrel, Eclipse, and WEM (or other NODAL Analysis software).
• 5% travel required
CANDIDATES MUST BE LEGALLY AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE U.S.
