Location: Houston, TX, USA
Client located in the state of Texas has a Senior or Lead Senior Generator Specialist/Engineer opening. This position will be responsible to provide and expert level of consultation on generators and exciters relative to the operating and maintenance characteristics as well the engineering and design characteristics to diagnose problems both while the equipment is operating and when disassembled and to identify and analyze common maintenance problems, and indications of pending failure. You will also assist the OEM with the development, and evaluating the OEM recommendations for short-term and long-term repairs, and for upgrades and other duties as required. To be considered for this position you need to have heavy industrial experience with generators manufactured by Siemens/Westinghouse, AC and General Electric, of various designs (conventionally cooled, gas cooled, gas inner cooled, liquid & liquid inner cooled). You must possess a functional knowledge of the assembly and disassembly of generator rotors and stators, auxiliary systems (to include seal oil, lube oil, excitation, monitoring and instrument systems), as well as testing equipment and methodology. A knowledge of other plant electrical equipment, to include breakers, motors, transformers, wiring and logic circuits is also needed. Client will consider a variety of experience such as OEM field service engineering or design, military, electric utility O&M, or similar heavy industry O&M. Relocation assistance will be considered for eligible candidates.
