Senior / Junior Geotechnical Engineer
Ideally, the successful candidate will have professional Engineer status or eligibility, with 3-6 years of practical geotechnical experience in high stress hard rock environments. Alternatively, a person with significant underground experience, enthusiasm, creativity and an ability to grasp concepts quickly could be successful in this role. This individual will report to the Chief Engineer and be responsible for the Geotechnical Group at Williams and David Bell Mines.
The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will lead and develop a small team of engineers/technicians in addressing the long and short term geotechnical issues at both operations. This will include micro-seismic and instrumentation monitoring, stress modeling, visual inspections, support quality control, support design, paste fill design and quality control, as well as strategic input to short and long term stope sequencing.
