PROCESS / CHEMICAL ENGINEER – Petrochemical / Refining / Oil and Gas Wilmington, CA, USA
Conducts process design and engineering studies, analysis, work scoping and simulations to select the best solution for refinery applications. Located in Wilmington, CA, 90748, CA (Los Angeles area of Southern California)
The Job:
Process design including studies to select an appropriate solution from alternatives
Analysis of equipment operation and operating problems and recommending a solution
Preparing scopes of work and detailed process design activities
Work activities could include running process simulations (Aspen and Hysys preferred, Pro-II acceptable)
Experience in Process Design and/or Systems Engineering (PFD/P&ID development, heat and material balances, screening studies, FEL/FED/FEED work, etc.)
Preparation of equipment data sheets and instrumentation data sheets, equipment lists, line lists and participation in a variety of design review
The ability to supervise a junior process engineer engaged in these tasks may be required
Qualifications:
Candidate must have an engineering degree and 5 to 10 years of process engineering experience in the petroleum or petrochemical industry
A working knowledge in refining units and offsite utilities and would be an advantage
Effective oral and written communication skills and strong technical skills are invaluable to this role
A team player and with an ability to interact effectively with others in a task force environment is essential
EPC experience is preferred. Eligibility for a Professional Engineer designation is an advantage
Candidates must be U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.A. without sponsorship. TN Visas are acceptable.
No Relocation is being offered for this position. Per Diem available to those that qualify
This position exists at other locations throughout the state of California.
