Successful candidate will support the Piceance Basin Asset Team by providing reservoir engineering analysis for project development, field performance, reservoir analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. This position is in a highly interactive team environment focused around the implementation of an aggressive tight gas development plan. The position involves teamwork with geoscientists, land, accounting, corporate reserves group, planning, and D&C. - Reserve booking strategy implementation including monthly bookings, reviews of current producers, booking current offsets, monitoring drilling program to ensure timely booking reserves, and VOLTS accounting • Develop production and reserve add forecasts for all budget updates, generate and analyze base case economics / sensitivities for forecasts, and develop presentation materials in the form of graphs, charts, text descriptions, summaries to include in various presentations • Calculate EURs for area producers. Evaluate relationships between EUR and IP, water production, completion techniques, spacing, geology, etc. Results will feed into conceptual model and help drive the plan of development • Monitor and analyze production from existing well using GPA/Topaze. • Participate in completion decisions with geology and completion engineers on new wells selecting intervals to perforate and fracture stimulate. • Work with Business Development and Land to identify future expansions, swaps, etc in basin and calculate reserves and production forecasts, perform economic evaluations, participate in data room evaluations. • Coordinate with production engineering in Grand Junction on well work, scheduling, artificial lift opportunities • Work with other companies in the area to share lessons learned Degree: Bachelors Major: Petroleum engineer or equivalent Work experience: minimum 1 year reservoir engineering Computer Proficiencies: Desired computer skills include Aries, TERAS (or other economic analysis tools), TOW, VOLTS, Dwights/ Drilling Info or similar data mining, GPA/Topaze, and Office. Risk analysis and database access and manipulation are also desirable skills.
