Our client, one of the world's leading suppliers of Iron Ore, is looking for a motivated individual to form part of the Supply leadership team.
Based in Western Australia, our client operates several mining operations, port facilities, on-site processing plants and railway and is going from strength to strength.
Position description
As the most Senior Supply representative on site, you will be responsible for leading a team of supply professionals managing site service contracts, and for managing high value, high risk site service contracts yourself.
You will ensure that contracts meet the requirements of the site customers and deliver optimal commercial outcomes to the business. Key aspects of your role will include maintaining strong relationships with the customers on site, building deeper strategic relationships with key vendors, and driving process improvement.
Other key responsibilities will include:
Development and timely execution of Supply strategies for key service categories;
Managing the performance and development of your team;
Ensuring that your team operates within West Australian Iron Ore (WAIO) Supply Policy and Procedures;
Developing and maintaining relationships with contracted vendors;
Representing Supply where appropriate, as the most senior local supply representative; and
Ensuring that your team's contracts are managed consistent with the WAIO Contractor Management Framework.
Skills and Experience
Ideally applicants will be tertiary qualified, display an intimate understanding of Supply terms and conditions, and have proven expertise in negotiating. As an effective communicator and collaborative operator, you are able to work across operating sites and functions, thereby developing and influencing people and processes to achieve functional efficiency. Strong customer relationship skills will also be essential as you strive to achieve the best value for the business while delivering outstanding customer service. Experience in leading a team within the Supply environment is desirable.
