Geology Manager - U/G Operations & Exploration (FP2755) Latin America
Our client, a well established international owner miner, requires an experienced Geology Manager to ultimately manage all production geology and regional exploration activities for one of its Latin American based underground mining operations.
You are a dynamic individual who possesses a balanced expertise in both underground production geology and exploration project work.
You Will:
Report to the Operations Manager
Manage site underground mining geology, exploration geology, ore body optimisation and risk analysis
Oversee resource identification / definition, long-term strategic resource accounting and strategic mine planning, as well as production mine delineation and expansion
Assist earthmoving and mine engineering departments in reaching production targets within approved schedules and budgets
Assess the long-term impact of planning decisions on overall company profitability
Manage the expenditure of operating, capital and project budgets, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operation
Play a role in community communications and relations
Co-promote a culture of awareness and commitment to safe working practices amongst all employees, which will enable a healthy and accident-free working environment
You Possess:
Minimum Bachelor degree in Geology, Geological Engineering or related discipline
Fifteen (15) years or more of hands-on underground mine geology & exploration experience
>3 years overseeing both mining & exploration geology disciplines at management level
Solid underground mining operations background
Effective leadership
Prior experience overseeing all facets of an operating mine geology department
Proven track record in contributing to successful attainment of production targets
Strong short, medium and long-term mine planning skills
Training coordination
Extensive site-based mineral resource asset development and optimization experience at the highest level
Excellent safety track record and analytical, interpersonal and business operating skills
A ‘Qualified Person' designation
Previous international experience will be essential
Highly advantageous, but not essential. ...
Ability to communicate in Spanish or French
Prior work experience in Latin America or similarly challenging environments
Proven community relations track record
