Summary Description of Duties: To oversee activities related to mine engineering with significant strategic impact and to ensure service and / or operating standards are met (internally and / or externally). To design and develop processes, practices and methodologies in mine engineering. To initiate and undertake projects to optimize performance within mine engineering and to ensure adherence to industry regulations and organizational standards. 1.To oversee activities related to a system, program or process in mine engineering 2.To analyze information and prepare technical documents to support decision making 3.To communicate information related to mine engineering and to mentor others 4.To lead project teams and internal task forces
Qualifications: BA or BSc in Mining Engineering or equivalent work experience Additional specialized education of up to 4 years including masters level degree or equivalent Formal professional designation in appropriate area of expertise More than 8 years of related work experience In depth understanding of Kinross’ processes a definite asset Previous experience in the mining industry is preferred Ability to learn quickly Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets
