Description:CCL has been requested by a major international oil company to provide a Piping / Mechanical Static Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, to be resident in Abu Dhabi or Egypt for 12 months on a renewable contract basis. Attractive all inclusive daily rate in Euros. Terms and conditions to be discussed and agreed.
Qualifications:BSc Honours (Open University) in Engineering, Science and Technology. Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Excellent conflict management and problem solving skills. Fluent written and spoken English and IT skills essential. Attendance at daily construction meetings. Preparation of weekly reports.
Experience:Piping/ Mechanical Discipline Lead Engineer with extensive experience in a similar position. Responsible for ensuring that design meets project requirements. Participate in various projects as required. The level of progress for individual projects will vary, typically, from Pre-Engineering to Detail Engineering and on to Construction. Review and comment on Piping / Mechanical Static documents issued by the Engineering Contractor. Check that design is developed in line with the Pre-Engineering, Project statement of requirements, Specifications and ensure that all comments, as agreed, are duly incorporated by Engineering Contractor. Review of Vendor documentation. Liaise with discipline engineers, engineering co-ordinators, engineering contractor, vendors, as required, in support of the progress of Engineering activities. Liaise with head office to acquire necessary support for specific technical points. Liaise with Site Representative to collect necessary data for the project. Provide a weekly report to Management. Inspection of vendor's submissions. Assist in inspection and reporting of build of vessels and mechanical static equipment. Follow pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of the Piping and Vessels. Previous experience of working in the Middle East or North Africa would be beneficial.
