The candidate will be responsible for supervising the purchasing of materials and equipment for large engineering/ construction projects. You must be capable of applying diversified knowledge of materials management principals and practices, and independently making decisions on significant procurement-related problems. Wide experience in procurement assignments, managing a group engaged in procurement activities. This position reports directly to the Manager of Procurement.
Essential Job Functions:
• Designs and participates in the procurement strategy, scheduling of the purchase order and preparation of the detailed estimate.
• Prepares procurement execution plan, proposals and/or budgets during the bid or start-up phase of a new project and controls procurement project budgets.
• Prepares project-specific procedures to augment CH2M HILL’s standard procurement procedures, as needed for each new project.
• Ensures all team members understand their roles and responsibilities, manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of the project. Ensure procurement requirements are met, as per weekly schedule.
• Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
• Plans, schedules and coordinates assignments to meet the client’s schedule and objectives, including developing and maintaining the project’s Procurement Plan in CH2M HILL’s electronic system.
Requirements:
• University Degree with professional certification in Purchasing or Logistics
• PMAC Certification is considered an asset.
• At least fifteen (15) years of procurement experience in the EPC Environment with an emphasis on the petrochemical field. Five (5) or more years of experience at a supervisory level.
• Ability to demonstrate supervisory and leadership skills required to lead independent project procurement teams.
• Ability to organize and prioritize personal work and the work of others to meet deadlines.
• Capable of exercising considerable judgment and initiative in interpreting policy for the planning and implementation of procurement assignments.
