Rotating Equipment Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The engineer will work as Rotating equipment engineer in SGED/TSU. The engineer will provide technical and engineering support to rotating equipments issues for all plants under SGPD. Some of the responsibilities of the engineer will be to:

1. Review all data related to rotating equipment in project proposals, design drawings, equipment specifications for new and upgrade projects.

2. Prepare rotating equipments detail design packages for plant modification and upgrades.

3. Work with vendor technical representatives to resolve equipment technical problems.

4. Inspect and commission new rotating equipment including vertical and horizontal centrifugal pumps, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors

5. Participate in investigation teams for the analysis of individual failures related to rotating equipment. These failures include but not limited to: Mechanical Seals failures, Bearings high temperatures, Vibration issues, and Misalignment related issues.

6. Assist and direct Maintenance technicians in troubleshooting rotating equipments related problems

7. The engineer will work with the Technical Support Unit (TSU) of South Ghawar Engineering Division (SGED) which is one of the divisions under South Ghawar Producing Department (SGPD). SGED handles all engineering and project matters of eighteen (18) Gas Oil Separation Plants (GOSPs). SGED/TSU provides technical support and engineering services to the four (4) producing divisions in SGPD.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum seven years in the oil industry or similar process industry. Experience must be such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as being capable of project and design assignments beyond the ability of the basic professional

Fluent in EnglisH - written and oral.

A thorough knowledge of English is required to perform analyses and studies in depth, make professional presentations and keep up with technical advancements; Arabic not required but considered desirable for Western incumbents in this position.

Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, US and Aramco Codes, Standards and Specifications.
