Great opportunity with a well established company located in the Houston, TX area for a Mechanical Engineer that has experience in the area of mechanical engineering such as static and rotating equipment. Petrochemical / Refinery experience is a must to be considered for this position. This position will be responsible for pressure vessel calculations, client specification reviews, piping design and specification and to review / approve of other engineers work. Qualified candidates must have approximately 10 years mechanical engineering experience, an intimate knowledge of ASME Section VIII, familiarity with ANSI and API codes, and experience with client specification review with the ability to understand impact on equipment, instrumentation and fabrication. You must be able to participate in the review of detailed design and provide guidance to Jr level Engineers. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is needed. The ability to develop sound working relationships with internal / external customers and a demonstrated, high degree of coordination, planning, and organizational skills is a must. Relocation is available for eligible candidates.
Questions you will be asked:

• Describe your experience designing pressure vessel equipment (ASME Section VIII). What type of vessel design software have you used? Grade yourself on the level of expertise from 1 to 5 (5 being the highest)

• Describe your experience reviewing client specifications to ensure incorporation to datasheets and RFQs. Describe your experience as Supervisor-Technical Leader-Mentor of Jr. level Engineers. Explain your responsibilities.

• Describe type of equipment and instruments that you have specified on a typical project. Describe your experience specifying equipment under ANSI and API codes.

• Describe your experience in skid-modular equipment design. To what degree, have you reviewed P&ID-s, mechanical drawings and isometrics? Have you performed structural calculations and piping stress analysis? Please describe.

• Where do you currently live and why are you interested in a position located in the Houston, TX area? What is your current or most recent annual salary (please break down base, bonus, etc.) and what is your desired annual salary for this position?
