Description: A company located in North Central North Carolina has an immediate need for a Medical Design Engineer for a six to twelve month contract position. This position will apply theoretical knowledge of design and engineering principals for solving technical problems. The tasks will be related to production of medical devices in an aseptic environment as well as design of test fixturing and assembly fixturing for optical, chemical and biological technologies. Candidates must have experience in manufacturing techniques used in molding, casting, machining, and stamping processes. The engineer will operate as a team member and will have responsibilities such as developing test procedures, simple statistical experiments, and limited validation studies. Candidates applying for this position will need to be proficient with Pro/E Wildfire for their daily activities. The ideal candidate will have pre-clinical trial setup experience. All candidates applying for the contract position must have BS in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering and have a minimum of five years experience in product design engineering. A Masters degree is preferred. Local candidates are preferred for this position.
