Job descriptionPurpose:
• Have responsibility for ensuring the umbilical design meets project and code requirements, including ice and installation loads.
• Ensure materials selected are fit for purpose and that the selected technology can be constructed and be operable in the project environment.
• Ensure the umbilical can be installed within the logistic constrains and contractor installation capability without compromising the value of the projects in terms of quality, safety, cost, schedule.
• Ensure the selected umbilical configuration is installable in Caspian conditions.
• Ensure that the FEED contractor as well as any other contractor working in the Project Development, in particular in the Project Definition Phase, perform according to the project and contractual requirements, adding proper value to the project (evaluating opportunities and optimising the design), managing risks, and supporting the
Company till the project Sanction. This is obtained through proper instruction to the FEED contractor (according to contractual and project requirements) and reviewing his key deliverables.
• Ensuring through a proper support to the planning exercise, a correct roll out through the various phases of the project (from Concept Definition to Detailed Design, Construction, Installation, Hook-uop, Commissioning and
Start-up).
• Support the definition of the execution strategy/execution plan, as well as the definition of a contractiprocurement plan.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
• Accountability for the design of the umbilicals, taking into account process, power and telecoms needs.
• Responsible for ensuring the umbilicals can be installed in the Caspian.
RequirementsQualifications & Experience:
The job holder must have:
• A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• An Engineered Chartership.
Required Competencies:
The job holder must have proven:
• Minimum 10 years experience in Umbilical design, construction and installation industry.
• Experience in oil and gas offshore design and construction projects
• Experience in high pressure sour gas environment is recommended.
Other remarksWorking Conditions:
• Initially based in London, then migrating to FEED Contractors office (location yet to be decided).
• Some occasional business travel, principally within Europe, may be anticipated.
• Normally 5/2 (Monday to Friday) but flexibility is required as occasional weekend work may be necessary.
