Senior Designer Job Skills Curriculum Development

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Vocational/Academic Education or Engineering. Master's degree desirable. Eight (8) years experience in training or vocational/academic education, including 3 years professional experience in training program development and evaluation of refinery and gas processes. Experience in Chemical/Process engineering is a major plus. Experience in analysis, design, development and evaluation of successful training programs or performance support systems ideally in oil and gas or related process industries. Experience in devleopment of instructional programs which incorporate e-learning, blended-learning or simulation. Experience in utilizing coursewaare, web page, or animation authoring tools such as, but not limited to, Toolbook, Authorwaare, Dreamweaver, and Flash will be a plus. Excellent command of oral and written English. Must have had advanced training and/or experience in ESL/Math/Science/Vocational training programs, training systems, or educational media/technology applications. Must have strong background in educational psychology, evaluation methodology, educational testing and measurement/computer applications. Position requires experience in e-learning and blended instruction design, development, production and implementation, and the capability to establish and maintain standards for curriculum development projects. Must be able to train and lead teams of Saudi/expatriate analysts and subject matter experts who will convert our existing paper-based curriculum to "e-formats" suitable for independent e-learning and instructor-led blended learning.

Requires working knowledge of gas and oil operations and processes to support the major gas and oil expansion projects deploying high tech process and control systems to prepare the Saudi workforce for the future. It is expected that this position holder will be familiar with English editing and technical writing tools, including e-learning development tools, to support our efforts in making training and performance improvement resources available on the corporate intranet to all employees at all times. 1) Experience in the analysis, design, development and evaluation of successful training programs or performance support systems (ideally in the oil and gas or related process industries). 2) Experience in the development of instructional programs which incorporate e-learning, blended-learning or simulation. 3) Experience in training or vocational education, with a minimum of 3 year's professional experience in training programs development and evaluation of critical Refinery & Gas processes. Experience in Chemical/Process engineering is a major plus. 4) Experience in project management, problem analysis and resolution. 5) Excellent command of oral and written English. 6) Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. 7) Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project-management tools.

Primary day to day duties: Provides professional consultation and expertise in training program development and evaluation. Oversees and controls major projects to develop, implement and evaluate training programs. Serves as team leader or work director for major projects. Other critical functions include the following:

1) Performs all duties common to the work director level as established by T&CD management. 2) Provides consultation and high-level professional expertise to Training Department management on proposed programs, policy changes, and evaluation of current activities. 3) Serves as team leader and directs the development and execution of major Program Development & Evaluation and corporate quality assurance projects in assigned area. 4) Provides advice and consultation to subordinate professionals in the Division as required. 5) Monitors contract activity for assigned projects. May prepare technical scope work, and participate in technical bid evaluation and contract negotiation. Maintains quality control for contracted services and recommends on contractor evaluation. 6) Prepares and/or gives presentations for corporate-level briefings (SAMCOM, Maintenance Training Steering Committee). 7) Researches, analyzes and writes major studies, reports and proposals relating to future training development and evaluation programs. 8) Keeps current with and assures that subordinates are made aware of new developments in Saudi Aramco training trends.
