Resource Geologist

Our client owns one of the world’s premier underground gold mines, located in New South Wales. The company is now seeking the services of a suitably qualified and highly motivated Resource Geologist, who is ready to work at a unique and challenging mine-site.

The Resource Geologist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the maintenance and ongoing development of the geology and resource models.

Key elements of the role include:

* Input into the continuous development of the ore resource models through results driven from reconciliations, reviews of mine domain mapping, and the integration of grade control data.
* Co-ordination of geological inputs into the resource modeling process to ensure timelines are met.
* Development and maintenance of stockpile models for reconciliation and resource purposes.
* Input into resource and reserve reviews.

The successful candidate would ideally have:

* A recognised degree qualification with a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience.
* Experience with geo-statistical techniques gained at operating sites. Exposure to non-linear geo-statistical techniques would be well regarded.
* Experience in reserve and resource estimation, particularly in large underground operations.
* Working knowledge and application of geological modeling packages.
* Working knowledge and application of geo-statistical packages.
* General geological experience covering drilling and sampling techniques.
* Database administration and QAQC, mine planning, grade/ore control, and mineral processing.
* Project management skills - able to lead and participate in project teams.
* Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation, and the ability to communicate at all levels of an organisation.
