Project Mechanical Engineer

Our client is a member of a leading international mining group and operates a copper / gold mining operation in central west NSW.

They are seeking a suitably qualified mechanical engineer to join their team as a Project Mechanical Engineer to provide effective mechanical engineering support to meet the needs of a large scale underground gold mine.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Completing projects on time, on budget and in a safe manner;
* Providing project management advice that supports the mining operations and processing plant;
* Proactively identify areas for improvement;
* Maintaining a good understanding of daily operational issues;
* Proactively support an unwavering commitment to safety;
* Building strong risk management principles into all tasks;
* Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and all legislation.

To be considered for this role, ideally you will possess:

* Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering;
* Minimum of 5 years experience in an industrial engineering environment, with specific project experience in preferably in mining;
* Exposure to both surface and underground mining projects covering processing plants and tailings dams will be highly regarded;
* Proficiency in the use of MS Project and competency in auto CAD or relevant program;
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team;
* Capacity to understand and deliver to customer needs;
* An ability to plan your own work;
* Excellent communication skills.
