Maintenance Planner

Our client, a joint venture operation located in Northern Kazakhstan has an immediate requirement for a Trade qualified Heavy Equipment Fitter / Diesel Fitter with significant experience within the mining industry for their operation in Kazakhstan.

Among the ten largest countries in the world by area, Kazakhstan boasts a booming mining industry currently valued at over US$3bn and contributes close to 30% of the country's export earnings and 19% of all industrial production. The Kazakhstan mining industry is forecast to grow an average 8.81% per annum over 2008-2012, with the industry value reaching US$5.69bn in 2012.

In conjunction with maintenance and operational personnel you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to achieve reductions in cost of plant maintenance through better planning and component replacement practices. Other responsibilities will include:

* Identify areas of potential cost reduction
* Ensure maximum component life is being achieved at the lowest possible cost at the highest possible standard
* Maintain close working relationships with maintenance Superintendent, Supervisors and operational maintenance teams
* Develop a plant culture where improvement through better maintenance and improved systems gives a greater understanding of plant costs resulting in higher utilisation and reduced operating costs
* Ensure alignment between current scheduled replacement of components and industries best practice with the development planning, data collection and vehicle health analysis systems that provide accurate budgeting information for future requirements for life of equipment
* Develop & review APL's and component fit kits
* Inspect failed/pre-failed components to verify accuracy of PM schedule
* Ensure that weekly downloads are carried out from on board data collection systems
* Carry out analysis of and write weekly reports on vehicle health to ensure machine reliability and unscheduled maintenance is minimised
* Communicate with maintenance management, operations and maintenance teams on a regular basis
* Attend tool box meetings to communicate the daily plan to maintenance teams
* Attend the daily production meeting to ensure operations is fully informed of fleet status and maintenance issues

To be considered for this position it is essential that you hold Mechanical Trade Qualifications and experience in the maintenance of Mobile Mining Equipment, along with maintenance planning experience. Applicants with Caterpillar equipment will be viewed favourably. Experience with ET, VIMS and VIMS Supervisor will be highly regarded.

This position will operate off either a 12 weeks on x 4 weeks off roster or will offer residential status for singles or families with non-school aged children. The site is located approximately 30 minutes from the city where an apartment is provided for employees. Meals are provided whilst at site. An attractive remuneration package is on offer.
