Job descriptionPurpose:
1.Provide technical expertise to the company on static and rotating equipment.
2.Provide engineering support for all projects and studies executed by ZRBU.
3.Ensure design optimization and correct codes and standards are utilized in the projects and studies.
4.Provide technical supports to the ZRBU operating sites.
Principal Accountabilities:
1.Conduct in house design and construction engineering of new plant facilities, in accordance with international codes and standards, company specifications and good engineering practices.
2.Conduct fitness for service on existing in service equipment and associated piping, to establish the safe maximum allowable working pressure and service remnant life to API 579-1/ASME FFS-1.
3.Conduct feasibility studies, in house engineering for small to medium size projects.
4.Prepare / Provide mechanical input to the following technical documents.
5.Statement of requirements.
6.Execution strategies.
7.Scope of work / services for new facilities and for modifications to existing equipment.
8.Material requisitions as part of the commercial departments purchase requisitions for new equipment.
9.Engineering packages, including equipment specifications, datasheets, drawings etc.
10.Consultant/Engineer/Contractor/Vendor documentation reviews.
11.Carry out technical bid clarifications, assessments and evaluations on tendered equipment, engineering services and project studies.
12.Review the design works and studies performed by Engineering Consultants and ensure that they are in accordance with the technical requirements. Review and approve drawings, specifications and technical documents for all mechanical design related work.
13.Participate in site surveys of facilities to establish and identify actual requirements.
14.Provide technical assistance, coordination and liaison with other discipline engineers with Zirku Business Unit on all respects of Engineering / Technical matters, design reviews and audits.
15.Up to date with the latest equipment codes and standards.
16.Able to use the company equipment software and ensure it is the latest version with respect to the international codes and standards.
17.Provide input / update to company engineering specifications, procedures and philosophies.
18.Participate in technical audits on consultant / engineer / contractor / vendor offices, during pre qualification and to monitor their performance during a project.
19.Participate as company representative specialist on equipment inspection and performance testing at vendors workshop or at company sites.
20.Impart training particular to UAE nationals to meet their integration targets.
RequirementsMinimum Requirements:
1.B.SC in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognized institution.
2.Not less than 15 yrs experience in oil and gas industry, of which at least 5 yrs in operation and 10 yrs in related to design and construction engineering of static and rotating equipment.
3.Membership of internationally recognized professional bodies ( e.g.. ASME, I. MechE, etc).
4.Certified professional engineer from internationally recognized accredited professional organizations.
5.Fluent in both spoken and written English, particularly technical report writing.
6.Proficient with mechanical equipment international design standards related to the oil and gas industry (eg ASME, API, TEMA, NFPA etc)
7.Computer literate with experience on technical software related to equipment.
8.Computer literate with experience using Microsoft office, visio and smart plant foundation engineering document management system (EDMS).
9.Self motivated and ability to organize and prioritize work to meet dead line, work in a multi discipline engineering team in conducting conceptual studies, FEED and detailed engineering.
10.Experienced in carrying out design analysis ( eg Hydraulics, fatigue, thermal and discontinuity stresses, equipment supports, nozzle reinforcement etc.)
