Great opportunity with a financially stable and well established company located in the Houston, TX area for a Senior Drilling Engineer that has experience planning and executing oil or gas offshore wells design in the Gulf of Mexico. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates. Salary listed is an approximation so all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

-> Ensure drilling programs, program amendments and dispensations to policy are prepared on schedule and are adequately risk assessed
-> Support all phases of the drilling operations
-> Work closely with resource teams, geologists, production and service company personnel to ensure an efficient operation
-> Travel to the field locations to monitor and participate in drilling operations as needed
-> Lead engineering studies to improve drilling operational performance
-> Perform third party Quality Assurance and Quality Control
-> Perform post-analyses for benchmarking and learning

Requirements:

-> Minimum of 10 years of experience planning and executing an offshore well design for oil or gas wells
-> Proven success in the Gulf of Mexico
-> Previous experience working as a Drilling Engineer
-> Previous responsibility for planning and executing a well design for an oil or gas well
-> Total well planning and design skills, cost estimation and risk analysis, operation support to field team, HSE behaviors, MMS requirements and teamwork skills across multi-disciplinary teams
-> Offshore drilling, pore pressure,/frac gradient prediction, drilling mechanics, directional drilling, drilling fluids, cementing, well control, formation evaluation
-> BS Petroleum Engineering preferred

• How many total years experience do you have working as a Drilling Engineer? Do you have a BS degree in Petroleum engineering? How many years experience do you have working with oil or gas offshore wells design in the Gulf of Mexico?

• What specific experience will demonstrate your total well planning and design skills, cost estimation and risk analysis, operation support to field team, etc for oil or gas offshore well design in the Gulf of Mexico? How recent is this experience?

• Please highlight your experience with offshore drilling, pore pressure,-frac gradient prediction, drilling mechanics, directional drilling, drilling fluids, cementing, well control, and formation evaluation for this client.

• Where do you currently live? If not already in the Houston, TX area why are you interested and living and working there?
