Systech is a top international dispute resolution consultancy with appointments on the world's major engineering, energy and construction projects. We have 500 professionals working across our 26 offices and our projected turnover for 2009 is US$100m. We have an in-house Dispute Panel comprising our experts with particular contract, professional and sector skills - these individuals provide a supervisory and strategic role across all our disputes and claims ensuring a consistent and quality service across the business. The oil, gas and petrochemical industries are unique in nature and demand highly specialist project skills - we have therefore established a dedicated division, Systech Energy, to provide risk, project, dispute and training services in this sector. Due to a continued, fast-paced growth in this sector we now require a Director with dispute resolution and claims experience to be based from our Houston, Texas office.
The role:
Your main focus will be working with the Senior Vice President to expand business with our existing clients whilst looking to develop new business opportunities elsewhere. You will be expected to take a hands-on role in the management of our dispute resolution and claims teams, be an active member of our dispute panel and provide regular in-house and external training. This is a key role for driving Systech forward in the energy sector and you will play a crucial part in the delivery of our ambitious but achievable business plan.
The position would suit someone already based in the USA or wishing to relocate long-term, and you will be able to rely on the full support of your fellow Directors and our professional support team.
With Houston, Texas as a base the ideal candidate will be flexible towards travel throughout the USA when required.
The candidate:
You will have a minimum 15 years oil and gas industry experience, at least 8 of which will be directly related to dispute and/or claims work. Ideally you will have given expert testimony and taken an active role in tribunal proceedings.
You will be a hands-on business manager with a network of key contacts within the industry and the ability to win new business, and communicate with staff and clients.
Experience in the USA and in the provision of training is preferable.
