EPC client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a General Construction Superintendent with 20+ years of experience in the power generation industry for long term (2 year) project assignment in Delaware. You must have a strong mechanical construction background and specific experience as a Superintendent on solid fuel fired power plant projects. You need to have experience on at least one Air Quality Control System (AQCS) back-end construction project. Experience as a Boilermaker would be a BIG PLUS as the majority of the work is focused on the boiler. Client will pay for mobilization, demobilization, 1 paid trip home every 3 weeks, & per diem. You need to be able to start by early September, 2009.

Responsibilities:

-> Provide on-site administrative and technical management of field related activities on construction project site
-> Supervise construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
-> Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions (scheduling, cost control, engineering, material control, and may provide day-to-day direction of on-site administrative staff
-> Interface with client representatives, A/E representatives, & other contractors on a daily basis
-> Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project
-> Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract
-> Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required

Requirements:

-> 20+ years in the power generation industry
-> Experience on at least one AQCS back-end power plant construction project
-> You need a strong mechanical construction background on power plant EPC projects
-> Specific experience on solid fuel fired power plant projects is needed
-> Experience as Boilermaker on coal fired power plants would be a BIG PLUS
-> Experience with Union construction projects is needed
