Our client is one of the largest specialized engineering contractors in the world and provides Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, Commissioning, Testing and Maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control/Automation Systems, HVAC and Telecommunication services to its clients worldwide. They are currently seeking a Regional Business Manager for their Company’s operations located at Sakhalin, Russia, which is predominately oil and gas facilities. You should be a proven leader with all round general management skills and be capable of taking on the responsibility for the operation, profitability, growth and development of our client’s business in Sakhalin, Russia.
This is a senior position reporting directly to the CEO and you will manage a multicultural regional team by applying strong leadership qualities and team building skills. You will be a professional with integrity and high ethical standards and you will be responsible for ensuring that the key elements of the business are managed effectively – Sales and Marketing, Operations, Finance and Commercial, Human Resources, Safety and Quality. You will focus your attention on the achievement of agreed business and revenue targets for the region and will rely on achieving success through the development of key relationships with employees and clients alike.
You must be comfortable with working autonomously and consequently a proactive and innovative approach to problem solving is essential to the role, while at the same time ensuring that company systems and procedures are not compromised. You will have a flexible approach recognising that both the time difference and geographical remoteness of the location present additional challenges to normal inter-company communications.
Ideally you will have an engineering or technical background, preferably electrical, instrumentation or mechanical, with a proven track record in a similar capacity with similar organisations. It is essential that you have gained experience operating at this level for a contractor in the oil and gas sector overseas. Previous experience in a Russian language environment or the ability to converse in the Russian language would be advantageous. The position is offered as a 3 year contract on a rotational basis of 8 weeks on and 3 weeks off and is renewable by mutual agreement. The salary package is very attractive and also offers free accommodation, company car (4WD), medical insurance, flights and a per diem living allowance
