Senior Mining Geologist: (Bilingual English/Mandarin) China
China's largest primary silver producer, a public company headquartered in Vancouver, BC, is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Geologist to assume responsibilities for all exploration activities within China (tactical and strategic planning, joint venture and corporate project implementation and management, etc.) Responsibilities will include directing exploration activities, entering into subcontracts or agreements, representing the corporation's interests in joint operations, and possibly supervising divisional and support staff. In addition, the ideal candidate will seek, evaluate and make recommendations on new exploration and acquisition opportunities, and be able to negotiate option and joint venture agreements. Incumbents would typically have a Masters or B.Sc. in Geology, Certified Professional Geologist designation, and 10 to 15 years’ related (underground precious metal ) work experience in exploration and economic geology.
Some specific responsibilities include:
Preparation and writing of pre-feasibility and feasibility studies and technical reports;
Providing geological support for proposals/bids, mine planning and mining projects;
Establishing, managing and prioritizing activities of the geology group from grade control to definition drilling and resource exploration planning;
Direct involvement in planning and budgeting activities;
Site assistance as required; and
A qualified person for the purpose of NI-43-101.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities sought include:
Ability to be the lead author for writing scoping and feasibility studies as well as technical reports. Must be able to compile data into reports for use in regulatory filings and investor presentations. Samples of previous written work will be requested.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Primavera and AutoCAD.
Experienced in exploration project management, estimating and scheduling.
General knowledge of applicable mining regulations, safety codes and acts.
Knowledge of Mandarin and English required
