Procurement Specialist - Procurement/Construction/Project

IMMEDIATE NEED!!......Client is looking for a Procurement Specialist/Materials Coordinator with 3-5 years of heavy industry construction procurement experience for a year long contract assignment in northern NJ. You will be working in the field on a power plant construction project. You need to be familiar with Electronic Procurement Platforms. This is a 12 month Contract assignment and our client is looking for candidates that are local to the Northern, NJ and who are commutable to the Jersey City area.

Responsibilities:

-> Involved with making sure the materials and services needs of the project are met by optimizing procurement efficiency and effectiveness through accurate planning, innovative sourcing and cost reduction
-> Help initiate and coordinate procurement activities for all materials and services
-> Preparation of bid packages, conduct pre-bid meetings, evaluate bids, develop/negotiate applicable terms & conditions, and issue appropriate contracts or purchase orders

Requirements:

-> Proficient in standard business computer applications and have general knowledge of uniform commercial code and contract law
-> Familiar with Electronic Procurement Platforms
-> Experience supporting heavy industrial (power, process, etc...) construction projects
-> 3-5+ years of experience as a Procurement Specialist supporting these projects
-> A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
-> Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation is a PLUS
-> Experience in cross-functional commodity management teams is a PLUS
-> SAP experience is a PLUS

• Detail your experience with the following: preparing bid packages, conducting pre-bid meetings, evaluating bids, and developing and negotiating applicable terms and conditions.

• How familiar are you with electronic procurement platforms? Explain.

• Do you have any of the following: (1) Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation, (2) experience in cross-functional commodity management teams or (3) SAP experience?

• Are you local to Northern New Jersey, near Jersey City? How far of a commute would you have to Jersey City?
