Qualifications:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
10+ years cost control experience on major projects is preferable
Strong MS Excel Skills.
MS Project or Primavera skills would be an asset
EPCM experience would be an asset
Well developed communication and interpretation skills
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain budgets for all project work from an authorized approved estimate with separate identification of cost elements (labor, material, etc.)
Ensure implementation/maintenance of the project cost tracking system and process that monitors and analyzes budget, commitments, actual cost, forecast costs and cost variances
Coordinate, compile and generate project annual budget package
Assist Project Managers and EP firms in preparation of project cost estimates
Evaluate contractor/vendor/supplier estimates for construction work against project budgets
Advise team on cost control & planning
Gather and provide consolidated cost reporting on total surface facilities contractors’ and owner management project costs and man-hours on a timely basis
Prepare project cost reports for Project Managers
Provide input into project Monthly Status Report
Analyze cost data, physical progress data and schedule data in order to provide cost forecasts that will consider actual cost to date, outstanding commitments and productivity
Review actual project costs monthly from JDE system
Coordinate an orderly change management procedure with the proper review and approval that tracks changes or revisions to the project scope throughout project execution.
Maintain and implement a Cost Trend/Change Order log that documents and tracks pending, approved and rejected items
Responsible to gather timely and accurate incurred cost (Value of Work Done) data from the Contracts and Procurement group, Project Management Teams and the work sites
Coordinate with Project Management group on the monthly contingency management process
Appraise contractors’ cost control performance: audit and verify that the contractors’ personnel are familiar with and are following the agreed cost control procedures
Monitor contractor’s services, versus contractual cost and accounting requirements
